3rd and final rerate: Sergei Zubov (80) 1012 148-g 584-a 732-pts +146 325-PIM 2167-shots His #s are outstanding. compare him to: Schneider (80OV, 75DF) - 663-pts in 1132 games - not as good as Zubov yet his DF is higher and OV the same Niedermayer (84OV) - 608-pts in 1053 games - Zubov's #s are still more impressive. i'm just hoping to get an 82 or 83 OV out of Zubov with a higher DF (and maybe PA) rating than he has right now. Thanks As Drew said, the SC and PA are based on formulas. Also, Niedermayer is an overall way better defensement than Zubov. Also, i don't think you should request to have 1 or two points more in OV, cuz the OV isnt all. It's based on each individual categories. Anyway, my 2 cents

just trying to use comparisons to players who have similar #s and who are sort of in the same age group. i think niedermayer is better too but im just trying to make a valid arguement to warrant the rerate.

Red Wings player rerate #3: Jason Smith www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=254&hubname=nhl-flyersSmith is a shot blocking, tireless workhorse. He's a great leader and has displayed fearless defensive responsibility since joining the NHL. I think he was underrated, like many others, as a result of poor teammates. He, like Foote, deserves a boost in defense to mimic his constant hard work in the NHL. He is a guy that should really help the NHL Flyers this season and I believe, when properly rated, will be a great help to my Wings. He also deserves a leadership and experience bonus, as he has been a solid captain in his career. This is my final rerate and I would like to point out that I made sure to wait for a player worth talking about before I bothered to use it. He, like Foote, is due to be a UFA at the end of the season, but I feel I should get every bit of his value before he is gone.

For my 2nd re rate I would like to take a look at Duncan Keith. Firstly id like to point out his DF rating (currently 70). As a comparable Jordan Leopold recently recieved a 74. Keith is vastly superior in every single statistical category, and as such one would think he should be superior ratings wise as well.
-He logged an impressive E plus minus for an awful hawks team while logging nearly 24 minutes a game
-He checks in with a very very solid 148 blocked shots(top 30 in the NHL).
-he was 2nd on his team logging 3:32 per game shorthanded.
"Plays a very cerebral game and is positionally sound." -tsn.ca ________
SP/SK (currently 64 each)
Keith, a 6'0 180lb defenceman is an excellent skater and puck mover, this is not at all reflected in his awful ratings in these areas. I would hope he at least deserves a slightly above average 70 in these spots.

I'll chime in before the chorus here... PA and SC are formula based ratings and are tied directly to assists and goals, respectively. You can request that they increase, but it's unlikely they will change.

Calgary Flames #2 Rerate: Right Wing Patrick Eaves Scouting Reports state Patrick as an excellant skater and forechecker, which i feel should raise IT, SP, ST, and SK. While his skating could use only a boost or 2 points or so, i feel that an excellant forechecker should have a much better rating in intensity and strength then 72 and 71 respectively. An excellant skater should do the same for skating. I understand that scoring and defense are completely stat oriented, but i feel that the intriguing scoring upside that eaves possesses is worth a lil more then a 69 in scoring, and his anticipation at both ends of the ice should boost his dismal rating of 65 for defense, as he also posted a plus 7 in the 05-06 season. stats state that eaves scored 61 points (34g,27a) in 131 games (two seasons) is enough to boost the 66 in passing and puck control a bit. tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=3484&hubname=nhl-senators

WASHINGTON CAPITALS - RERATE #3: CHUCK KOBASEW
On the whole I think Chuck Kobasew is quite well rated, with a few exceptions. He has shown flashes of offensive brilliance in lower leagues (including a 30+ goal, 70+ point AHL season) but at the pro level has developed into more of a smart, gritty two way winger, who played alongside Stephane Yelle on the third line in Calgary for the past couple years before being dealt to the Bruins.
In his brief time in Boston he played a slightly more offensive role, but as the two way forward on a scoring line. In many ways he is similar to a young Chris Clark--a fast, hard working, instinctive winger who earns a regular shift thanks to his defense, speed and awareness. The offense may come in time (it has in Clark's case) but right now he's a good, fast, defensively responsible winger.
SP and SK: However, his SP (66) and SK (70) ratings do not reflect his true abilities and both, in my opinion (and that of TSN, which describes him as "Has an outstanding work ethic, good speed and top-notch instincts. Possesses untapped offensive upside as well as all-around potential."), are too low. SP and SK ratings in the mid-70s would seem to be more accurate for a player like Kobasew.
DF: Finally, his 63 DF rating is also a distinct understatement of his abilities. He was a high pick who has altered his game from offense first to being a fast, hard working, back checking, penalty killing support player. He played on the PK2 in Calgary and in his brief time in Boston did the same. He regularly took shifts alongside defensive forwards like Yelle and Axelsson and played a similar role. He's not a Selke contender, but a low 70s DF rating is more in line with what he has put in time and effort to become. The 63 he has currently seems to be more a reflection of the 03-04 Chuck Kobasew, not the 06-07 one.
Thanks,
