I'm pretty sure Drew already has a system set up, so you might want to touch base with him first to see what it is.

Nolan Pratt (Dallas, NY Islanders, Chicago) i thnk this might be a few too many players to take on as an agent. maybe something like 6 or 7 or 8 but this is almost 20 players here. maybe narrow it down some? give other people a chance too.

I think it will be better if there is not more than like... 5-6 agents. Other than that it won't work very well imo.

I'll handle this next week guys, gotta get the finances in order as well.
I believe what I'll do is have all of the offers e-mailed to the agents, I'm not very big on msn negotiating... and nobody should know what or who other teams are offering. I don't want to see too many ridiculous contracts.

I think the goal of the agents should be to get the best fit for the player, not necessarily the best money offer.
For example, a 39 year old player without a cup has no interest in a 5 year deal with the league's worst team even if it is for a few extra hundred thousand. Furthermore, if I were the agent for Bill Geurin, I wouldn't sign in Canada, since he said he'd never like to play there again. Also, huge rivals cannot be signed by other teams (example, Patrick Roy wouldn't go to Detroit in the late 90's).
Anyways, that's just my take. Also, I think the agent should be able to negotiate a deal (counter-offer) to try to give teams the opportunity to up there offer (unless it is unreasonable).
I'd be willing to organize the UFA process if you want me to. We could talk about how much influence they have (for example, we could decide that players should be open to all offers).
Finally, I think we should have 6 agents, and assign them certain packages of players to represent. That way, contract extensions can be negotiated during the season, as agent one could be in control of all LW's in the Atlantic division. (We could even demand trades if that much realism is desired. Of course the circumstances would have to be extreme, ie. vet being a healthy scratch, getting 4th line ice time when they want to score in a contract year, etc.)
Let me know if you are interested. The agents would then post all confirmed contracts online.

I cant really say I agree with the entire post. This is a fantasy hockey league and I believe that every team should have equal shot at a free agent. In a league like this it should only be money and contract length that matters. I personally don't believe it is fair to have some teams that cannot sign certain players. It would make it more realistic, however I would be dissappointed if I had targeted a guy for free agency and shed payroll so I could sign him and it was said that he wouldn't sign here since I finished bottom 7 in the league last year. Anyway that is my 2 cents.
